Light Jet Charter From Danville

For a small group that wants a jet on its own timetable, a light jet does the job most efficiently. We fit the aircraft to your passengers, luggage and runway, then quote one all-inclusive number with no hidden costs, so the full price is clear before you agree to anything.

What a light jet is, and when it fits

Light jets are twin-engine business jets such as the Citation CJ3, Phenom 300 and Learjet 75. Most seat five to seven passengers in a club-seating cabin, cruise around 400 to 460 knots and cover roughly 1,200 to 2,000 nautical miles before a fuel stop. That makes them a natural fit for trips from central Indiana to cities like Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta or New York.

The tradeoff is cabin size. You sit comfortably but you do not stand up, baggage space is limited to a few roller bags and soft duffels, and some models have a small belted lavatory rather than an enclosed one. If your group is larger or the flight runs past three hours, a midsize jet charter usually makes more sense. If the trip is short and the group is small, turboprop charter can cost less for the same door-to-door time.

What comes with a light jet charter

  1. 01

The right aircraft and crew for the route

Passenger count, luggage, leg length and the runway at both ends decide which aircraft we choose. Every light jet we quote flies with two pilots.

  2. 02

    A single all-inclusive figure

Flight time, taxes, landing and FBO fees and crew costs are combined into one number. Nothing hidden is added once the flight is over.

  3. 03

    Pricing by the leg

Our point to point pricing bills only the legs you fly. A one-way trip never carries round trip pricing, so you do not pay for a return you skipped.

  4. 04

    Pets and WIFI

Pets allowed in the cabin, a real help for families flying to a second home. WIFI equipped aircraft can be booked, and on the call we tell you which ones have it.

  5. 05

    FBO arrangements

We set up the private terminal on both ends, covering parking, catering requests and when your ground transport should arrive.

Signs a light jet is the right call

  • Your group is three to seven people

Below that, a turboprop may do the job for less. Above it, you need a bigger cabin.

  • The flight is under about three and a half hours

Light jets are built for this range. Longer legs push you toward a super-midsize jet charter, where you get more room and fewer fuel stops.

  • You want to be back the same day

A morning departure, a meeting in Chicago or Detroit, and a return before dinner is a common light jet trip. Airline connections rarely make that work.

  • Your destination has a shorter runway

Many light jets operate from runways around 4,000 to 5,000 feet, which opens up smaller airports closer to where you actually need to be.

  • Bags are modest

Golf bags and skis can fit in limited numbers. If everyone brings two large suitcases, tell us and we will size up.

How a light jet charter works

  1. 1

    Call with your trip details

Give us dates, passenger count, bags, any pets and your preferred departure window. We take charter calls at any hour, including short-notice trips.

  2. 2

We price aircraft against your route

We check range, runway length and aircraft availability, then give you an all-inclusive quote by phone. If a turboprop or midsize jet would serve you better, we say so and explain why.

  3. 3

    Confirm and finalize details

Once you accept, we lock the aircraft and crew, confirm passenger names, and set catering and ground transport.

  4. 4

Arrive at the FBO and go

Plan to arrive about 15 to 20 minutes before departure. There is no security line; your bags go from the car to the aircraft and the crew briefs you before engine start.

What changes the cost of a light jet charter

Flight time makes up most of the price, so distance and wind matter more than anything else. The remainder depends on where the aircraft is based, how long the crew waits and each airport's fees. All of it appears on your quote at the start.

Hours in the air and wind
Billing follows flight time, taxi included. Flying west into a strong winter headwind takes longer than flying the same route east.
Getting the aircraft to you
When the closest open light jet sits in another city, the ferry time to reach you shows up in the price. Booking somewhat sooner widens the aircraft we can pick from.
Crew waits and overnights
When the crew stays overnight, hotel and per diem costs are added. Coming back the same day usually avoids them.
Airport, FBO and seasonal charges
Landing and ramp fees and winter de-icing differ by airport and date. Busy holiday weekends cut availability and can push rates up.

Questions about light jet charter

How many passengers and bags does a light jet actually hold?

Five to seven seats on most models, though four to six people fly most comfortably. Plan on about one carry-on and one medium bag each, and mention golf clubs or skis so we choose an aircraft whose external baggage compartment can take them.

Will there be a restroom?

That varies by model. Some light jets have an enclosed lavatory, while others use a belted seat behind a privacy curtain. Your quote tells you which your aircraft has.

Is my dog welcome?

Yes, pets allowed. Tell us how many animals and how big they are when you call, and we will make sure the aircraft and crew are ready for them.

What separates a light jet from a turboprop?

A light jet is faster, climbs higher above most weather and covers longer distances. A turboprop often costs less on short legs and can land on very short runways. On trips under about an hour, we quote both so you can weigh them.

What if my trip is one way only?

Then you pay one way. With point to point pricing, we never bill round trip pricing for a flight you are not taking. When an empty leg matches your route, we will point it out, and our Empty Leg Flights page explains more.
